Nigel Seeley’s three from the tee for the Made In Denmark tournament

Nigel Seeley 21 May 2019

Made In Denmark tournament betting tips for this week. Read on for our expert tips for the British Masters taking place at the Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort.

Made In Denmark

The European Tour event this week is the Made In Denmark championships which returns to its traditional home of Himmerland Golf and Spa Resort after a year away from the venue.

The tournament has a good look about it this week and it's headed by defending champion Englishman Matt Wallace who is a stand-out 10/1 at Skybet, which I am sure will be a very popular choice after his win last year and his recent third place finish at the PGA Championships.

Wallace is certainly the man to beat in Himmerland, but the change of venue from last year concerns me as does the travelling back after an exhausting four days in New York.

Lucas Bjerregaard leads the home challenge and he is next in the betting at 16/1 and the great Dane also played well at Bethpage finishing in 16th and was sixth here last year, but his form at Himmerland isn't that great and he should be overlooked and so should big hitting Thomas Pieters another who performed well in New York in 23rd position at 16/1, despite winning this event at this venue in 2017.

Three From The Tee

Thomas Detry @ 33/1 Ladbrokes

My headline selection is not going to be a surprise to European Tour followers of this column as THOMAS DETRY is probably the player that I have tipped more than any other in this season and I can't ignore the claims of the young Belgian at the general price of 33/1.

Detry is a tour winner just waiting to happen and when he does get his maiden success he will go on to win many more as he has no flaws in his golf game.

The 26 year-old has been in contention on many occasions to finally win a tournament, but his lacks the mental believe, but with a seventh and a 14th finish at this tournament in the last two years and some good form coming in he will be right in the shake-up on Sunday.

In the last five tournaments Detry, a World Cup winner this year, has had three top 15 finishes and should have finished higher than a tie for 15th in his last start at the British Masters, but two poor rounds on the weekend cost him.

Detry is always a fast one out of the starting blocks and it's always the weekend that prevents him from winning and I am expecting another fast start on Thursday and he is also worth a small play at the general 45/1 to be the first round leader.

Benjamin Herbert @ 45/1 bet365
* Odds correct at 12:14 BST on 21/5/2019

Frenchman BENJAMIN HERBERT looks a nice each-way play this week at the general 45/1 with most bookies to go well again at an event where he always performs.

The last time this event was held at Himmerland in 2017 the 32 year-old finished in sixth place and with a 13th in 2016 and a 14th in 2015 and playing the best golf of his career finishing second at the China Open at the start of the month he is another who will be in contention this week.

Adrian Otaegui @ 60/1 Paddy Power

My final selection in Denmark is ADRIAN OTAEGUI at 60/1 with Betfair and Paddy Power.

The Spaniard has missed the cut in his last two events at the PGA Championships and the British Masters but conditions didn't suit his golf game and I would rather look at the 25th and 10th finish the two weeks before at the Trophee Hassan II and the Indian Open .

Otaegui enjoys playing Himmerland with some impressive performances with his best a third finish in 2016 and at a venue and in conditions that suit his game he might be a surprise package this week.
