Nigel Seeley’s three from the tee for the BMW International Open

Nigel Seeley 18 Jun 2019

BMW International Open betting tips for this week. Read on for our expert tips for the Travelers Championship taking place at Golfclub Munchen Eichenried in Germany.

BMW International Open

THE European Tour returns this week with the BMW International Open from Golfclub Munchen Eichenried where a competitive field is headed by defending champion and in-form Matt Wallace.

Wallace is the bookies favourite to successfully defend his crown at 12/1 and that will prove to be a very popular wager with many punters, but he was at the top end of the leaderboard last week at the US Open and the last time he returned from a major at the Made In Denmark, where he was also the title holder he disappointed in 41st and that is a concern this week.

Two time runner-up at this event Sergio Garcia is next in the betting at 14/1 and despite featuring early last week at Pebble Beach the Spaniard fell away to end up in a share of 52nd place and after the US Open he said he wasn't happy at all with his swing and this might be an event to get him in tune for the Andalucia Masters where he hosts next week.

England's Matthew Fitzpatrick was brilliant in his final round at Pebble Beach closing with a 68 to end in a share of 12th place, but before you rush to take the 14/1 on the five time winner this is Fitzpatrick's first appearance on the European Tour since January and it might take him a couple of weeks to get back into the swing of things.

Three From The Tee

Martin Kaymer @ 16/1 William Hill

MARTIN KAYMER is back playing some great golf and all looks good for the German to get the home galleries cheering this week and the two time major winner is my main selection this week at the general 16/1.

Kaymer has had recent back-to-back top 10s on both sides of the continent after a eighth at the Betfred British Masters was followed by an impressive third in a world class field at The Memorial.
Last week he finished in 35th at the US Open, but the stats suggested he should have done a lot better with his driving superb, but his putting let him down and if he can improve on that he will win very soon.

He won this event in 2008 at this venue and was also runner-up last year and he's in much better form this time around and will have the majority of the support over the next four days. The 34 year-old is a great front runner and if he gets off to a fast start on Thursday he will be very hard to peg back.

Joost Luiten @ 22/1 Coral

JOOST LUITEN has been looking like a winner just waiting to happen in recent weeks and the Dutchman is well worth having on your side at 22/1.

Luiten has made the top 10 four times already this season on the European Tour, with his most recent a eighth at the British Masters. In recent weeks he's played on the PGA Tour and he's found it tough, but on a return to home soil at a venue he enjoys he looks certain to go close at the weekend.

Luiten hasn't played for a couple of weeks, which also is an advantage against players who are travelling back from California and he has some great course stats with two top 20 finishes in the last two years and two top 10s at this venue in 2011 and 2013.

David Lipsky @ 50/1 Coral

My final selection is in-form DAVID LIPSKY at the general 50/1. The American is 5/5/13 in his last three starts on the European Tour before heading back to America where he has played ok, but found the fields a lot stronger.

Lipsky boasts a decent record at this course with two top 20 finishes in the last two years and he is always one that starts well and I would also recommend a small bet on him at 50/1 to be the first round leader.
