Wolverhampton Wanderers v Aston Villa Betting Tips Explained

Aston Villa go into their Matchday 11 encounter at Wolves on the back of a four game winning streak and boast an impressive record of five wins and three draws from their last eight Championship outings. That run has seen Steve Bruce's charges steadily climb the table to seventh, where they sit five points adrift of top of the table Cardiff City and four behind second placed Wanderers.

Bruce has a number of injury concerns ahead of the weekend though, with Mile Jedinak (groin), Andre Green (hamstring), Keinan Davis (hip), Henri Lansbury (knee) and Jack Grealish (damaged kidney) all doubts for the clash.

Neil Taylor, meanwhile, begins a three-game ban following his sending-off in Villa's 1-0 over Bolton Wanderers prior to the international break. All of which means the manager will be forced to mix things up for the first West Midlands derby of the season after naming an unchanged side during their four game winning streak.

And that could work against Villa  when coming up against this rejuvenated and exciting Wolves outfit. The hosts boast a record of seven wins, two draws and just two defeats from their opening 11 fixtures of the campaign and with the likes of Diogo Jota, Ruben Neves, Leo Bonatini and Helder Costa continuing to impress for the hosts, there's a palpable sense of optimism at the club.

Wanderers come into the weekend's encounter on the back of thumping 4-0 win at Burton Albion last time out and notably knocked Premier League opposition - in the form of Southampton - out of the League Cup earlier in the campaign.

A 2-0 reverse at Sheffield United has been the only blot on their copybook in recent weeks and with eight clean sheets in 14 games in all competitions this season, we're backing Nuno Espírito Santo's charges to shine again in this one and to end Villa's unbeaten run.
