West Ham United v Chelsea Betting Tips Explained

Only a dramatic collapse will deny Chelsea a Premier League title in Antonio Conte’s first season as manager. A championship success looked unlikely last September, when the Blues followed up a draw at struggling Swansea City with defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal, but they have responded to those setbacks in emphatic fashion, embarking on a fantastic run of form that has seen them win 17 of their last 20 Premier League games while losing only once.

That superb sequence has seen them open up a 10-point lead ahead of this latest round of games in the Premier League, and club legend Frank Lampard believes it is only a matter of time before they are officially confirmed as champion.

“I am very happy with him and if he carries on the way he is, he will stay there for a long time,” Lampard told the Evening Standard. “What he is doing at the moment is fantastic. It is very hard to look too far forward in football, but what he is doing is a great thing for the club because last year there was a lot of negative talk and he changed that very quickly. Long may it continue. I don’t like to tempt fate because I am a Chelsea man, but I can’t see them being caught with the gap they have and the way they are playing.”

I agree with Lampard. Chelsea will look to at least maintain that 10-point cushion when they step out onto the London Stadium turf on Monday night, and if results have gone their way over the course of the weekend they could increase that commanding lead at the summit. The question is, can they claim all three points from their latest meeting with West Ham United?

The Hammers are in the top half of the table right now, but they need to improve their results quickly or they will quickly slide in the bottom half of the table. The Hammers have won just one of their last four games and their home form has been rather dreadful with just one win and three defeats from their last four games in all competitions.

In fact, they have pretty much struggled at the London Stadium all season long and they have been soundly beaten by all of the big guns. Manchester City (twice), Arsenal and Manchester United have all beaten West Ham by at least two goals at their new home, and Chelsea can repeat that feat in order to return home with all three points in the bag.

And of course, nobody would be shocked to see Diego Costa contribute a goal for Chelsea and it is rather surprising that you can get Even money about the Spain international scoring anytime. Costa has found the back of the net in each of his last two appearances for the Blues and he is now just four goals away from equalling the 20 Premier League goals he scored during his maiden season in English football. Costa is a great bet to at least move within three goals of that mark by scoring against West Ham United for the second time this season.
