Wales out to 19/2 to beat Spain after Bale setback

Ben Darvill 10 Oct 2018

Wales out to 19/2 to beat Spain after Bale setback.

Wales were handed a major blow to their international break preparations as star man Gareth Bale was ruled out of their friendly with Spain. The Real Madrid forward will not play any part in Wales’ match against Spain due to ‘muscle fatigue’, although he does still have a chance of playing in the team’s Nations League clash with the Republic of Ireland on Tuesday.

Bale has been the most-important part of the Welsh national team for some years now, with his ability to score and summon up moments of magic vital. The Real Madrid man is not easily replaced by club or country these days, with his involvement for both crucial.

Wales will be looking to find a way past Spain without him then, with the task difficult enough with him. With this in mind, Spain, who recently hammered Croatia before beating England, are odds-on at 3/10 to win the game with BetVictor, with Wales 19/2 and a draw 19/5.

Spain will go into this one with their confidence bolstered after news of Bales’ injury, and they will want to secure yet another win as the side continue to recover from their poor showing at the 2018 World Cup.

BetVictor - Wales vs Spain Winner betting odds:

Wales - 19/2

Spain - 3/10
