Turkish Super Lig betting odds – All of the latest odds and betting on the 2016-2017 Turkish Super Lig

Besiktas are on a football high right now and will look to repeat their success from last season.

Get the latest Turkish Super Lig betting odds and find out who the bookmakers are predicting will win the 2016-17 Turkish league championship, who will be relegated from Turkey's top flight and who will be crowned the Gol Krali (Goal King).

Turkish Super Lig 2016-2017 Odds

Eighteen clubs compete in the Super Lig. Each team plays each other twice, one at home and once away, for a total of 34 league games. The three lowest ranked sides at the end of the domestic season are relegated into the second tier of Turkish league football, while the team with the highest points haul are crowned champions.

In the division’s 60 year history there have been just five different champions with Galatasaray the most successful (20 title wins), but Fenerbahce run Gala close with (19 title wins). And then there is Besiktas (14 title wins), Trabzonspor (six title wins) and Bursaspor (one title win).

Besiktas are the consensus favourites for the 2016-17 title and you can keep up to date with their quest for the title by checking our Turkish Super Lig live streaming information page.

There has been just one instance of a team other than Besiktas, Fenerbahce or Galatasaray winning the Turkish Super Lig in the last 30 years, when Bursaspor claimed their maiden championship title in 2010.

Bookmakers like Unibet also offer odds on a top three finish, with Besiktas, Fenerbahce and Galatasaray all odds-on to gain one of those three positions. These prices offer little value, though, so one of the other teams in the league could be backed in order to maximise return.

Previous title winners Brusaspor are considered an outside bet, while Konyaspor (who placed third last season), Istanbul Buyuksehir Belediyespor (who placed fourth last season) and finally, Trabzonspor all have favourable odds to secure a top three finish according to Turkish Super Lig betting odds.

As a high ranking league within UEFA coefficients, the winner of the Turkish Super Lig is guaranteed a route in the subsequent season’s Champions League (group stage) while the runner-up is tasked with a third qualifying round for inclusion in the Champions League. The third and fourth placed team in the Turkish Super Lig qualifies for the third and second qualifying round of the Europa League.

Turkish Super Lig Match Odds

Turkish Super Lig betting odds to win the title can fluctuate greatly, particularly when competition at the top is tight and just one or three points can affect a contender’s standing in the eyes of bookmakers. After all, there are potentially five legitimate teams who could all seal a top three finish by the time the 2016-17 season reaches its conclusion.

Some punters, therefore, take refuge in individual match odds with Besiktas the best bet from last season thanks to their 25 victories from 34 league games. Fenerbahce only lost four games out of 34 while Konyaspor also won over half of their league matches, 19.

Very few sides possessed a strong defensive record last year, with Fenerbahce’s 27 concessions a season record. Konyaspor were the next best with 33 goals conceded. The Both Teams To Score (BTTS) market, if this season takes a similar shape to last, could therefore be a very interesting avenue to explore.

Betting on individual matches – whether that is for one team to win or for BTTS – has the benefit of ‘quick returns’ as punters can place bets on the morning of each game day and enjoy their potential winnings after the final whistle. Turkish Super Lig betting odds for the outright championship, in contrast, keep money locked away for the duration of a lengthy, nine-month campaign.

Additionally, Turkish Super Lig live streaming is available from bookmakers such as bet365, where registered members can take advantage of their live stream service, as well as bet in-play on desktop, tablet or mobile devices. Turkish Super Lig Top Goalscorer Odds

Turkish football has produced a number of home-grown hitmen since the Super Lig's formation. The first goal-scoring superstar was Metin Oktay, a six time top scorer of the season who enjoyed his most prolific season in 1963 when he returned an astonishing 38 goals from 26 games.

Other successful 'Gol Krali' (Goal Kings) include Tanju Colak of Samsunspor, Galatasaray and Fenerbahce, and then the legendary Hakan Sukur, of Galatasaray, who consistently foiled opposition defences in the late 1990s.

More big names to win the top Turkish Super Lig goalscorer award include Brazil international Alex, Milan Baros and the most recent recipient of the award, Mario Gomez, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with Besiktas but has since returned Fiorentina.

Besiktas are yet to truly replace Gomez in the 2016 summer transfer market, so a player like Cenk Tosun will have to step up in order to shoulder the goal-scoring burden.

Fernandao won the top goalscorer award with Bursaspor and could repeat that feat with new club Fenerbahce, but will have to vie with strike partner Robin van Persie for that honour in the 2016-17 season.

Big things may be expected from Eren Derdiyok at Galatasaray but Lukas Podolski can also score a goal or two.

Turkish Super Lig Relegation Odds

The three teams promoted from the First League, the second tier of professional football in Turkey, consist of league winners Adanaspor, runners-up Karabukspor and third place Alanyaspor. Recently promoted sides can sometimes suffer immediate relegation, but sides like Kayserispor, Gaziantepspor and even Rizespor narrowly avoided the drop and could be embroiled in another relegation battle in the season ahead.

Turkish Super Lig betting odds surrounding relegation currently have Karabukspor as a favourite for the drop with 888Sport. Rizespor, Kayserispor, Genclerbirligi, Akhisar Belediyespor and Antalyaspor are all also tipped for relegation.

Relegation prices on Turkish Super Lig betting odds will fluctuate greatly in the year ahead, particularly if one side suffers poor form for a sustained period.
