Three-sy does it for Liverpool & Man City? Get 5/2 on flawless starts for title rivals

Manchester City and Liverpool are both expected to race out of the blocks when the new Premier League season gets underway in August, but will both clubs boast a perfect haul of nine points after their first three games?

City’s sensational run of form during the final few months of the 2018/19 campaign allowed them to pip Liverpool to the Premier League title by one point, and these two clubs are expected to once again slug it out for English football’s top prize during the 2019/20 season.

We have already pointed out how Manchester City may have been gifted a favourable run-in by those responsible for creating the fixture list, but what about the opening few weeks of the season?

They too could be hugely important as the two clubs look to lay down an early marker!

Starting with champions Manchester City, they are heading to London for their season-opener for the second straight season and while it is hardly a fixture they will have dreamed of getting on opening weekend, they could have done a lot worse than a more than winnable trip to face West Ham United.

They then face a major test in their home opener as they entertain a Tottenham Hotspur side that dumped them out of the Champions League last season, and following that they head back out onto the road as they make the journey to the South Coast.

So while that Spurs match has the potential to be a very tricky fixture, you still have to fancy the chances of City reeling off three straight victories to start their league campaign – after all, they have been the cream of the crop in the last two seasons.

And what about Liverpool?

We have already taken a look at Coral’s 6/1 about the Reds replicating their start to the 2018/19 season by reeling off six straight Premier League wins, but what is the likelihood of them at least winning their first three?

The European champions could not have asked for a much better fixture to start with than a meeting with newly-promoted Norwich City, and for their first away game of the campaign they will visit a Southampton side they have beaten in each of their last four encounters.

The final fixture in this three-game run is one that stands out because Arsenal are the visitors to Anfield in late August, but you only have to look at their recent home results against the Gunners to feel confident about the Reds chances – they won 4-0 in August 2017 and 5-1 in December 2018.

So would it really be a shock to see last season’s top two take maximum points from their first three games?

I certainly would not be surprised and that is why I am recommending taking up Coral’s offer of 5/2 on Manchester City and Liverpool each to win their first three Premier League games! This bet can be found under ‘Premier League Specials’ in the football section of the bookmakers’ website.
