It is fair to say that we could not have asked for a better way to close Euro 2017 than with a final showdown between arguably the two best nations at under-21 level.

Spain are appearing in their third final in as many appearances after what has been a very dominant tournament so far for them.

Albert Celades’ men have won all four of their matches – scoring 12 goals along the way – and are now unbeaten in 13 across all competitions.

La Rojita can certainly expect inspiration from top scorer Saul Niguez, who has netted five times in three appearances at the finals.

The Atletico Madrid winger has scored in each of his last five matches at this level, including a hat-trick in the 3-1 semi-final victory over Italy on Tuesday.

Saul will be eager to continue his momentum and finish the tournament with a bang, so it is worth a punt on him finding the net at any time in Krakow.

Meanwhile, Germany are looking to join Spain on two titles with what would be a first success since 2009, when the likes of Manuel Neuer, Sami Khedira and Mesut Ozil announced themselves on the world stage.

Despite dominating their semi-final, Stefan Kuntz’s men needed a penalty shootout to eventually overcome England having recovered from 2-1 down in normal time.

Striker Davie Selke limped off injured in that game after scoring for the second consecutive match in which his country have found the net, but the Germans will be hopeful he can return in time to lead their charge up front.

While we can expect a closely fought contest with both sides boasting plenty of attacking credentials, Spain should just have the edge to eventually prevail and lift the trophy at the Stadion Cracovia.
