Southampton v Stoke City Betting Tips Explained

Given the recent form of Southampton and Stoke, it is fair to say that we can expect a low-key and low-scoring contest at St. Mary’s.

The Saints’ 2-1 victory over already relegated Middlesbrough last weekend thanks to goals from Nathan Redmond and Jay Rodriguez ended a run of five matches without a win.

However, Claude Puel’s men have failed to score in their three most recent outings at home and will want to change that to end the season on a high.

Meanwhile, Stoke are without a win in four matches ahead of Mark Hughes’ return to the South Coast, where he spent just under two years towards the end of his playing career.

The Potters have struggled on the road – failing to win in any of their previous seven matches away from the Bet365 Stadium – while the 2-2 draw against AFC Bournemouth last time out ended a run of six without finding the net.

It all points towards a typical end-of-season fixture with neither side in great form and not really having anything to play for, so a low-scoring stalemate will be the most likely outcome.
