The 2017-18 Serie A season has reached its 23rd round of matches on the weekend of February 3-5 and we have picked out the best bet available on each of Sunday’s seven games.

Verona vs Roma – Radja Nainggolan anytime goalscorer @ 12/5 with Betfair Sportsbook (11:30 GMT kick-off)

Considering Roma have gone seven matches without a win they do not make much appeal at short odds here, but there looks to be definite value in backing their Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan to get on the scoresheet.

There is something about facing these opponents that suits Nainggolan because he has found the net in Roma’s last two games against Verona and odds of 12/5 simply look too big for him to do so again – we think the true price should be less than 2/1.

Chievo are on a poor run of only one win in their last 14 matches and there does not look to be any improvement in store for them away to Europa League knockout-stage qualifiers Atalanta.

It is a worry that Atalanta have lost their last three home games, with their recent form on the road much better, but two of those defeats were to title contenders Napoli and Juventus and as this assignment is much easier they should get back on track with a clean sheet to boot.

Like Roma and Chievo, Fiorentina are out of sorts just now but Bologna are not faring much better and this looks an opportunity for the visitors to exert their greater quality.

The Viola are simply conceding too many goals to be any better than their current mid-table position, just ahead of this weekend’s opponents, but Bologna have shipped two or more in six of their last seven matches and that will offer great encouragement to Stefano Pioli’s side.

Cagliari vs SPAL – Home win @ 23/20 with BetVictor (14:00 GMT)

SPAL could significantly boost their hopes of avoiding relegation if they win this game for it would put them just one point behind Cagliari, but instead it is the Sardinians whom we think will lift their survival chances.

Cagliari ground out a creditable draw away to Crotone last weekend despite playing all of the second half with 10 men and if they can keep 11 on the pitch here for the first time in three matches, they should be able to beat a SPAL side who are without a clean sheet since October.

Juventus vs Sassuolo – Home win and over 2.5 goals in the match @ 10/11 with betway (14:00 GMT)

Juventus are expected to put some pressure on Napoli by moving to the top of the table before their title rivals contest Sunday’s late match in Serie A.

The Italian champions have moved into overdrive in their defence of the Scudetto with 11 wins out of 12 in all competitions and it will be a surprise if they fail to gain another victory against Sassuolo, whose promising pre-Christmas run of form has come to a shuddering halt.

We fancy an upset here even though Gennaro Gattuso has got Milan going nicely since he replaced Vincenzo Montella as coach, steering them to three consecutive wins in the league.

But Udinese are also much improved of late and ended a brief wobble with a 1-0 success at Genoa last weekend, so they look to represent some value here to continue their good recent head-to-head record against the Rossoneri having completed the double over them last season.

Napoli -2 on the handicap away to Benevento @ 9/5 with Betfair Sportsbook (19:45 GMT)

Benevento have improved their home form by winning the latest two matches on their own pitch, but they are still comfortably the worst team in Serie A and look set for an emphatic defeat here.

Napoli are making a much better fight of challenging Juventus for the title this time around and despite not scoring quite as many goals as they were at the start of the campaign, three ought to be the minimum requirement against their beleaguered opponents.
