Celtic v Dundee

Celtic dropped points at home for the second time this season as they were forced to come from behind to snatch a 2-2 draw with Hibernian prior to the international break, but there is absolutely no way I am going to bet against the Hoops returning to winning ways at Parkhead when the Premiership season resumes this weekend. Dundee recorded a much-needed 2-1 win over Hearts prior to the international break, but they have already been hammered by Celtic and Rangers this season and I expect them to suffer another convincing defeat at the hands of Brendan Rodgers’ side on Saturday afternoon.

Hamilton Academical v Motherwell

Motherwell are a team in solid form fight now having won five of their last seven competitive fixtures, losing only of them, and they will be aiming to register back-to-back victories in the Premiership for the first time since late August when they visit Hamilton Academical on Saturday. I fancy their chances. Hamilton have lost each of their last four Premiership outings – three of them coming at home – and they have not won a league game since the surprise victory at Hibernian in mid-August. This is a great opportunity for Motherwell to build up some momentum and I am backing them to do just that by claiming all three points The SuperSeal Stadium.

Hibernian v Aberdeen

Aberdeen took advantage of Celtic’s slip-up prior to the international break by beating St Johnstone to go joint top, but can they keep the heat on the champions by winning their third straight Premiership match on Saturday? The Dons are visiting a Hibernian side that are unbeaten in their last six competitive fixtures and held Celtic to a 2-2 draw last time out. However, they have managed only two wins during this sequence and they have recorded only one home win so far this season – back on opening day. Therefore I am going with Aberdeen to keep their win streak going at Easter Road.

Partick Thistle v Kilmarnock

Second-from-bottom hosts bottom as Partick Thistle entertain Kilmarnock on Saturday afternoon, and even though this is early on in the season this does have a feeling of being a six pointer because both teams desperately need to breathe some new life into their campaign. Of the two teams I believe it is Partick who are most likely to claim all three points. They have taken a point from each of their last two home games – drawing with Rangers and Hearts – while Kilmarnock have been dismal on their travels, picking up just one point and scoring only one goal in three games.

Ross County v Hearts

Owen Coyle’s first outing as Ross County manager was a perfect one as his side ended a seven-match winless run in all competitions with a 2-0 victory at rock-bottom Kilmarnock, and he will now be looking for his team to build on that as they look to pull away from the bottom two before Christmas. Next up is a home match against a Hearts side who saw a three-match unbeaten run come to an end at Dundee prior to the international break, and I am finding it really hard to pick a winner. Therefore I suggest backing this game to lack goals – neither team appears to be full of goals and under 2.5 total goals has been a winner in several of their matches so far this season.
