Scott Parker 3/1 favourite to become next Fulham manager

Scott Parker has emerged as the bookmakers’ favourite to replace under-fire Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic, according to bookmaker Betway.

Jokanovic was able to guide Fulham back into the Premier League last season, but unless they can transform their fortunes over the next few months they could find themselves heading back down to the Championship at the end of the current campaign.

The Cottagers have taken just five points from their first 11 games and their season hit a new on Monday night as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town, a result that sent them crashing to the bottom of the table.

Jokanovic’s odds have been cut shorter and shorter during this poor start, making him the odds-on favourite in the Premier League’s ‘Sack Race’, and bookmaker Betway believes his successor may already be waiting in the wings.

Unsurprisingly Sam Allardyce and David Moyes have both been made contenders for the post at 6/1 and 7/2 respectively, but Betway punters believe Fulham could look to appoint from within and hire former club captain Scott Parker, who returned to Craven Cottage as first-team coach in the summer.

As a result Parker has surged to the head of the Next Fulham manager betting where he can be back at 3/1

“Monday’s loss to Huddersfield piled the pressure on Slavisa Jokanovic and with his side rock-bottom of the Premier League, we’ve opened betting on his replacement,” Betway’s Alan Alger told Bettingpro.com.

“Former Cottager Scott Parker, who is one of Jokanovic’s backroom staff, heads the betting with David Moyes hot on his heels.

“Sam Allardyce prides himself on getting clubs out of tricky situations and he could be a viable option, while club favourite Chris Coleman also looks to be in the running.”
