Paris St Germain v Montpellier predictions & betting tips
Paris St Germain remain level on points with league leaders Monaco, with only goal difference keeping them off the summit, but they have an opportunity to hit the summit on Saturday because their title rivals are not in action until Sunday. So will they take it? Of course they will. PSG have won 21 of their last 24 competitive meetings, are unbeaten in their last 15 league games while winning 13 of them, and they have not suffered a single home defeat in the league this season. They have also conceded just six goals at home in Ligue 1, so three points and a clean sheet are likely here.
Bordeaux v Bastia predictions & betting tips
Bordeaux have bounced back from the defeat to Nice with back-to-back wins over Metz and Nantes, but they remain outside the European places and that means the pressure is on them to make it three-in-a-row on Saturday. The good news for them is they are taking on a rock-bottom Bastia side that have won only one of their last 14 Ligue 1 games and have a woeful record on the road. I expect Bordeaux to collect all three points and they can also shut out the second-worst attacking team in the top flight.
Caen v Nantes predictions & betting tips
Caen halted a three-game losing run with the 2-2 draw at Metz a week ago, but what they really need is a win to put some more breathing room between themselves and the bottom three. They have not managed to record one of those since late February and I do not see that drought ending here. Nantes may have lost last time out, but they have been in decent form in recent months and they can return home with all of the spoils.
Dijon v Angers predictions & betting tips
Dijon may be second-from-bottom in the top flight, but they are just two points from safety and that means they still have a good shot at avoiding relegation to the second tier. However, they have taken just two points from their last eight games and that is not the sort of form you want to be in during a survival fight. Angers have lost their last two games, but both of those were against the top two and prior to that their form had been good with seven wins in their previous nine games. I fancy their chances of making it eight from 10 here.
Lille v Guingamp predictions & betting tips
Back-to-back defeats mean Lille are not quite safe in their fight to stay in the top flight, so they will be eager to stop the rot when Guingamp come to time on Saturday. I like their chances. The visitors arrive in decent form having won three of their last four games in all competitions, but this is a team that have managed only two league wins on their travels this season and Lille can take full advantage of that travel sickness in order to move a step closer to safety.
Lorient v Metz predictions & betting tips
Only goal difference is keeping Lorient in the bottom three at this time and that means a positive result on Saturday night could lift them to safety with four rounds of fixtures remaining. The opposition are a Metz side that are not quite clear of the drop-zone after taking only one point from their last four games. I am backing Lorient to get the win they need. After all, they have won three of their last four league outings and Metz’s away record is rather dismal with just 12 points taken and nine goals scored in 16 games.
