Ryan Young set to hit AFC Telford milestone

AFC Telford stalwart Ryan Young is set to make his 250th appearance for the club when the Bucks host Cambridge United on Saturday.

The 32-year-old is the highest capped player for Telford and is also the first man to reach 200 appearances for the club.

Young has been a regular starter for the Bucks this season despite their poor defensive record.

Manager Andy Sinton has praised his keeper ahead of the milestone, insisting that he is one of the finest glovemen in the league and has been let down somewhat by his defenders.

"He conceded four at Cambridge on Saturday (in the FA Trophy) but there's only the third one where you could say he might have done better," Sinton told the Shropshire Star.

"He's not really been at fault with any of the goals we've conceded lately, including the four at Wrexham on New Year's Day, and he's been a bit let-down by what's in front of him.

"I believe he is one of the best goalkeepers in the Conference."
