Pochettino backed to leave Spurs for Juventus after Champions League Final

Look away now, Spurs fans! The Champions League Final could be Mauricio Pochettino’s last outing as manager of Tottenham Hotspur.

Pochettino has worked miracles with Tottenham this season, taking the North London club to a huge showdown with Liverpool on June 1, and bookmaker 888Sport know that will have not gone unnoticed by Juventus.

Current Juve chief Massimiliano Allegri announced on Friday morning that he will be leaving the Italian champions his summer, and having been heavily linked with moves to Real Madrid and Manchester United in the past, 888Sport believes Turin could not be Pochettino’s next destination in his managerial career.

The Spurs manager is the 5/2 favourite for the post, but not far behind in the betting is former Chelsea and Italy boss Antonio Conte.

Conte (3/1) was Juventus manager from 2011 to 2014, and he played for the ‘Old Lady’ from 1991 to 2004, so it is fair to say that he is a club favourite.

Elsewhere in the betting, Jose Mourinho is as short as 6/1, with Pep Guardiola (7/1), Laurent Blanc (11/1) and Gian Piero Gasperini (15/1) also in with shouts of landing the prestigious position.

“It’s bad news for Tottenham fans,” an 888Sport spokesman told Bettingpro.com. “After Max Allegri announced he will be leaving Juventus, Mauricio Pochettino has been installed as our favourite to land the job.

“While Spurs will have breathed a sigh of relief as Manchester United and Real Madrid both decided against the Argentinian, it could be a different story if Juve come calling.

“With a Champions League final on the horizon, they’ll be crossing their fingers that this persuades Poch stays in London next season.”
