REVEALED: Find out which ex-England star is being backed for Brighton job

Frank Lampard's odds of managing in the Premier League have been dramatically slashed as he enters the running for the Brighton managerial vacancy as second favourite, according to bookmaker SportNation.Bet.

The Derby manager has seen his odds almost slashed in half from 10/1 to 11/2 to take over at The Amex after Chris Hughton was sacked less than 24 hours after the Seagulls' season came to a close.

With the Rams currently 1-0 down in the play-offs with an away trip to Leeds to come, taking over on the south coast may well be Lampard's best chance of a top flight reign for at least another year - as Derby drift to 12/1 to secure promotion with SportNation.

The Chelsea legend has shown he has what it takes to manage in the Premier League, having beaten both Manchester United at Old Trafford and Southampton at home in the cup competitions this season, whilst narrowly losing 3-2 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Swansea City boss Graham Potter is the bookmakers' favourite at 1/3, while a short and miserable stint at Stoke City for Nathan Jones could also be about to come to an end, with the ex-Luton Town manager the 12/1 third favourite ahead of former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte at 16/1.

“Despite Potter being the clear favourite, punters seemingly prefer Lampard as the ideal option to take over from Hughton,” a SportNation.Bet spokesman told Bettingpro.com.

“Derby have it all to do in the play offs now, but the betting suggests the former Chelsea midfielder could end up in the top flight one way or another next term.

“Should the Rams fail to make it up they could have a job on their hands keeping their promising young manager at the iPro Stadium.”
