Mexico v Jamaica Betting Tips Explained

We have reached the business end of the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, with the four remaining nations battling it out for glory in the States.

Mexico will feel very much at home at this stage of the tournament, where they have now featured in each of the last five editions of the Gold Cup.

The reigning champions continued their title defence with a narrow 1-0 victory over Honduras in the quarter-finals, with Rodolfo Pizarro’s early strike eventually proving to be enough.

El Tri have now lost just once after 90 minutes in their last 14 matches – the same record they can boast in their head-to-head record with Jamaica, who have failed to score in four of the five most recent encounters.

The 0-0 draw during the group phase may have ended a run of three straight Mexican wins, but will not necessarily boosted Jamaican hopes of ending their poor form in this fixture.

Theodore Whitmore’s men are appearing in back-to-back semi-finals at the Gold Cup following a hard-earned 2-1 win over Canada in the quarters.

Goals from Shaun Francis and Romario Williams did the trick for the Reggae Boyz, who held on in the latter stages after Junior Hoilett pulled a goal back for the Canucks.

They have now suffered defeat just once after 90 minutes in six matches, but are considered very much underdogs in what is a repeat of the 2015 final.

Mexico came out on top on that occasion and, given their dominant record in the head-to-heads, it is worth a punt on a victory to nil in their favour, especially with Paddy Power’s very generous offer of 40/1 on a 2-0 success.
