All over for Ozil? Bookies react after Mesut Ozil is left out of Arsenal squad to face West Ham

Mesut Ozil is odds-on to still be an Arsenal player when the January transfer window slams shut, despite being left out of the squad for Saturday’s Premier League match against West Ham United.

Ozil temporarily ended speculation about his future when he penned a new big-money contract with the Gunners a year ago, but that deal was inked when Arsene Wenger was still in charge and it is looking increasingly likely that current boss Unai Emery does not fancy the former Germany star.

Ozil has struggled to hold down a regular starting spot this season and despite being fit again following a recent knee injury, he was not even named among the substitutes for Saturday’s visit to West Ham.

That will once again lead to speculation that Arsenal could look to offload the playmaker before the winter transfer window slams shut, but bookmaker William Hill believes it is more than likely that he will still be on the books at the Emirates Stadium when the market closes until the summer.

Ozil is now just 1/10 to still be an Arsenal player for the final few months of the season, with his most likely destination should he move on thought to be Inter Milan.

The Serie A giants are at the front of the queue for his signature, according to the bookmakers, with William Hill going 7/1 that they land the German midfielder this month, while offering 16/1 that he remains in the Premier League and follows former team-mate Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

A return to Germany with Bayern Munich has been priced up at 16/1, while Italian champions Juventus are 25/1 to land Ozil this winter amid reports that they are closing in on his Arsenal team-mate, Aaron Ramsey.
