The 2017-18 La Liga season has reached its 22nd round of matches on the weekend of February 2-5 and we have picked out the best bet available on each of Sunday’s four games.

Getafe vs Leganes – Draw @ 23/10 with Betfair Sportsbook (11:00 GMT)

This is the alternative Madrid derby in La Liga and Leganes are still very much on a high after knocking European champions Real out of the Copa del Rey recently, following up that triumph with a victory at home to Espanyol.

Getafe are also enjoying a good campaign and will be buoyant after scoring a last-gasp equaliser away to Sevilla last weekend, but they look very short at a shade of odds-on here and Leganes strike us as being good value to claim a point.

Espanyol vs Barcelona – Away win to nil @ 6/5 with BetVictor (15:15 GMT)

Talking of local derbies, this is another and it is the third in 19 days between these rivals who also met in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals when Barcelona won the second leg 2-0 at home after losing 1-0 away to Espanyol.

In their last 12 league meetings, Espanyol have scored a paltry total of two goals and although they held Barcelona to a 0-0 draw a couple of years ago, we simply have to take odds-against for the champions-elect to claim another three points and a clean sheet to boot.

Girona vs Athletic Bilbao – Away win @ 15/8 with Betfair Sportsbook (17:30 GMT)

Athletic Club, as they prefer to be known, won the reverse fixture 2-0 in September and having put together a nine-match unbeaten run, we are happy to side with them to complete the double.

Admittedly Cuco Ziganda’s side have drawn three in a row while Girona have also been involved in stalemates on the last couple of weekends, but there appears to be that bit more goal threat about the Basque team with Aritz Aduriz and Inaki Williams in good form up front and they are fancied to snatch a win.

Atletico Madrid vs Valencia – Home win and over 2.5 goals in the match @ 5/4 with Ladbrokes (19:45 GMT)

The two closest pursuers, albeit at a distance, to Barcelona at the top of the table go head-to-head in the capital and Atletico Madrid are expected to cement second position with a victory that would put them nine points clear of Valencia.

Diego Simeone’s side are unbeaten at home in the league this season and overcame a bad patch, which included a Copa del Rey exit to Sevilla, with an emphatic home win over Las Palmas.

Valencia, meanwhile, have lost three on the bounce in all competitions, although they scraped through to the Copa del Rey semi-finals on penalties, and their disappointing spell looks set to continue.

Los Che's away matches in La Liga this season have averaged 3.5 goals and this could be a relatively rare high-scoring contest at the Wanda Metropolitano.
