Everton v Leicester City Betting Tips Explained

Craig Shakespeare’s perfect run as Leicester City manager continued with the 2-0 midweek win over Sunderland, making it six straight victories in all competitions for the man tasked with replacing Claudio Ranieri.

“I couldn’t imagine going on this winning run when i got the job, especially when I saw the games in front of us,” Shakespeare admitted this week. “But it doesn't seem easy and I've never felt really comfortable until the final whistle. I am still not going to say that [Leicester are safe from relegation] because other teams are capable of going on good runs. I have been in football for long enough to know anything can happen. We have to make sure we stay focused and move onto the next one.”

While Shakespeare is seemingly playing it safe with his comments about relegation, their fine run of form has seen them storm away from the relegation zone, putting eight points between them and the bottom three. The question is, just how long will this fantastic run of results continue?

Next up for Leicester is a trip one of the toughest stadiums in the country – Goodison Park. Everton have been excellent on their home turf this season, losing only one of their 15 home games, and their home form over the past couple of months has been nothing short of exceptional. The Toffees have won their last six home games in the Premier League, rattling in 22 goals while conceding in only one of those games, and in midweek they were only denied all three points at Manchester United when Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored an equaliser deep into add time.

Leicester may be in good form right now, but I expect Everton to claim all three points and bring the Foxes back down to Earth a little. I do like Leicester’s chances of scoring though. The Toffees have scored two or more goals in each of their six games under Shakespeare, showing they have rediscovered their scoring touch, and they can get on the scoresheet again in a losing effort here.

And speaking of goals, I have to recommend Romelu Lukaku to find the back of the net on Sunday evening. The Belgian striker failed to find the back of the net against Liverpool and Manchester United, but there is now way I am about to overlook a man that has scored nine goals in his last six Premier League appearances to surge to the top of the goal-scoring standings. Lukaku can get back on the goal trail against Leicester.
