Euro 2016 Group F Winner betting odds and tips - Portugal favourites to sail through

Portugal are well-fancied to kick-start another strong run in the European Championships by storming through a favourable Group F in France.

Portugal boast an impressive record of having reached at least the Quarter-Final stage in each of their six previous European Championship appearances, notably finishing runners-up in 2004 and third place in 2012.

Fernando Santos' side have been placed in arguably the weakest of the six groups, with Austria, Iceland and Hungary having made just three appearances between them in this competition.

Despite a vastly experienced squad containing a number of star names, Portugal made hard work of their qualifying group, which began with a humiliating 1-0 defeat to Albania, leading to the sacking of manager Paulo Bento just days later.

They went on to win their next seven consecutive games, all by one goal margins, and have suffered friendly defeats to France, Russia and Bulgaria, raising questions as to how they will fare against the top sides this summer.

Much of Portugal's hope will hinge on the form and fitness of Cristiano Ronaldo - their record goalscorer who needs just three more caps to overtake Luis Figo as Portugal's record appearance holder.

The likes of Nani, João Moutinho, Tiago and Miguel Veloso will also be instrumental to Portugal's chances of success and they should utilise their experience and quality to guide 'A Selecção' to a hat-trick of wins in the group phase.

Hungary start out as the 350/1 (Stan James) rank outsiders of the quartet after defeating Norway in a two-legged play-off to secure their first European Championship appearance since 1972.

However, second place appears very much up for grabs, with debutants Iceland entering uncharted territory following a landmark qualifying campaign and Austria set to embark on only their second European voyage.

Austria proved nothing short of a revelation in qualifying, defying the likes of Sweden and Russia to advance unbeaten with just five goals conceded along the way.

They could well be the dark horses to look out for in this group (9/4 with Bet365), though minnows Iceland may have their say with a fearless young squad harbouring no real pressure on their shoulders.
