English Premier League betting tips: The best bet from each of Saturday's 3pm kick-offs

Neil Roarty 11 Oct 2017

English Premier League betting tips and best bets for each of Saturday's 3pm kick-offs, including Tottenham Hotspur v Bournemouth and Crystal Palace v Chelsea.

Tottenham Hotspur v Bournemouth

Bournemouth have struggled at the start of the season and it could that this is the year that Eddie Howe and his philosophy starts to come unstuck in a highly competitive Premier League. The Cherries problems have always lay in defence, with Bournemouth conceding at a high rate and also sitting near the top of the charts for shots allowed and chances conceded. This is not what you want when facing a Tottenham side that is scoring goals for fun. Spurs made a shaky start to the season but have now won six of their last seven matches, scoring three or more times in five of the fixtures. Harry Kane is dominating the headlines with his 15 goals in 11 games for club and country since September 1 but there are other players hitting form as well. Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli and surprise star Ben Davies are also chipping in with goals and there isn't just one dangerman for Bournemouth to deal with at White Hart Lane. The Cherries have often found themselves swamped when playing Spurs with losses of 5-1, 3-0 and 4-0 in their four matches against Mauricio Pochettino's men. Another dominant victory for the hosts is to be expected on Saturday and even money that Spurs win by more than two goals on the Asian Handicap (refund if winning margin is exactly two) looks a safe bet.

Burnley v West Ham

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has been under pressure from the first week of the season and reports are once again suggesting that the Croatian has just a few games left to save his job. The Hammers owners definitely don't go about things in the best manner but questions should be asked about a man who has spent big money on both transfer fees and wages, yet doesn't appear to be taking the club forward. West Ham have only beaten Huddersfield and Swansea, who will both be in a relegation battle this season, and have lost four of their other seven league matches this season. A lack of direction and organisation has cost them and pinning hopes on Andy Carroll seems a fool's errand. Carroll may make life uncomfortable for defenders but a team like Burnley can deal with his threat and if they do then they'll beat West Ham on Saturday. The Clarets are unbeaten in five matches, drawing with Liverpool Spurs and beating Everton. Most impressive of all is that they have only conceded three goals in those five matches. West Ham, who have struggled for goals this season, may not be able to make an attacking impact at Turf Moor and so one goal from the hosts could be enough to give them the three points.

Crystal Palace v Chelsea

Crystal Palace are 9/1 to beat Chelsea on Saturday and there will be plenty of punters who buy into the fact that new manager Roy Hodgson, after a few weeks to work with his squad, will have the Eagles ready to cause an upset. However, this is a squad that has managed neither a goal nor a point between them and even the return of Wilfried Zaha (most likely from the bench) won't change that. Chelsea are a banker at 2/5 and should win on Saturday with a little to spare. It's 6/5 that the Blues win by two clear goals and that's a great way to more than double your money this weekend.

Manchester City v Stoke City

Manchester United have garnered most of the headlines at the start of the season but it is Manchester City who have been the most impressive Premier League performers, winning six of their seven matches, scoring 22 goals and conceding just twice. Pep Guardiola invested heavily in the summer but the signs are that he has spent sensibly and City now have a squad that is so strong that the loss of Sergio Aguero due to a car crash is little more than an inconvenience. Aguero's replacement, Gabriel Jesus, has been earmarked as the dangerman for the visit of Stoke City on Saturday but the player of more interest is perhaps Leroy Sane. The German has scored three goals in just three Premier League starts (although he has came off the bench four times) and added a further two in his only EFL Cup appearance. He has also reportedly clocked the fastest speed of any player in Premier League history this season. A slight change in tactic to accommodate the absence of Aguero should suit the German and his running in behind the Stoke City defence should lead to goals on Saturday. He's 5/4 with Sunbets to net at least one of them and if he starts then it's a great bet.

Swansea City v Huddersfield Town

Swansea City and Huddersfield Town are, as mentioned above, two sides that will be part of this season's relegation battle. The Swans simply don't look good enough at the moment, and a win over Crystal Palace isn't fooling anyone. Paul Clement's men have the lowest chance created numbers in the Premier League and the returning Wilfried Bony doesn't look sharp enough after a miserable couple of seasons at Manchester City and Stoke City. Tammy Abraham is too light-weight and Renato Sanches, for all his talent, doesn't have the same goal threat of Gylfi Sigurdsson. Huddersfield Town will travel to the Liberty Stadium on Saturday fairly confident that one goal will be enough to give them a point and it could well land the Terriers all three. One of the advantages of not having a team full of star names is that your players remain fairly fresh over the international break and David Wagner will have had time to work with his squad over the past few weeks. Expect a high energy performance from the Terriers and a victory at a big price.
