Can Manchester City justify their tag as Champions League favourites, or will Tottenham Hotspur knock the team to beat out of the competition?

Manchester City have been drawn to play against Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and, despite this all-Premier League tie, they have actually shortened in the betting to win the whole competition.

City hammered Schalke last time out and had looked like the team to beat, and bookmaker bet365 clearly agree as they have made them 2/1 to win the Champions League this season.

“Pep against Poch looks a mouth-watering last 8 clash in which City will start as red-hot favourites and the prospect of facing either Juventus or Ajax in the semi-final looks a positive for the backers of the Manchester side,” Steve Freeth of bet365 told Bettingpro.

Liverpool have shortened on the outright market from 9/2 into 4/1 with Man Utd (20/1) and Spurs (25/1) both on the drift after draws against Barcelona and City respectively.

The firm are now 8/13 about an English winner and 6/4 about an all-Premier League final.
