The 2017-18 Bundesliga season has reached its 15th round of matches on the weekend of December 8-10, and we have picked out the best bet available on each of Saturday’s five games.

All of the following matches kick off at 14:30 GMT except Borussia Monchengladbach vs Schalke (17:30 GMT)

Borussia Dortmund vs Werder Bremen – Home win and both teams to score @ 11/8 with William Hill

Dortmund have been enduring a terrible run of form and going into Wednesday’s Champions League match away to Real Madrid, they had gone seven games without a win to exit Europe’s elite competition and fall to sixth position in the Bundesliga table.

But the Black and Yellows do possess a strong recent head-to-head record against Werder Bremen having won 13 of the last 15 meetings.

With home advantage, BVB should be able to further enhance that statistic at the expense of the club second from bottom of the table, although Werder have scored in all of their last seven games against Dortmund and can do so again.

Eintracht Frankfurt vs Bayern Munich – Away win and over 2.5 goals in the match @ 21/20 with Ladbrokes

Although Bayern lost their latest Bundesliga away match against Borussia Monchengladbach, they generally remain very reliable and should ensure they at least retain their six-point lead at the top of the table with a victory.

The German champions have found keeping clean sheets difficult of late though, so there could be a goal in store for Eintracht and therefore factoring the ‘overs’ into the equation helps to boost Bayern’s price to odds-against.

Hamburg vs Wolfsburg – Away win @ 2/1 with MarathonBet

Wolfsburg have been particularly difficult to beat since Martin Schmidt was appointed as their coach in mid-September with only one loss in their last 11 matches, although the problem has been too many draws during the current spell.

However, they have enjoyed a couple of decisive recent victories at home and with Daniel Didavi and Yanus Malli both in excellent goalscoring form, the Wolves look capable of pulling off a win away to relegation-threatened Hamburg.

RB Leipzig vs Mainz – Home win and over 2.5 goals in the match @ 19/20 with Ladbrokes

Anyone who suspected Leipzig’s fantastic 2016-17 campaign may have been a fluke have been made to eat their words because they are again Bayern Munich’s closest pursuers in the Bundesliga and have also performed with credit in the Champions League.

Wednesday’s results will have determined which European competition they will be contesting in the new year, but whatever has happened against Besiktas we think Leipzig can get the better of Mainz and by scoring at least a couple of goals to boot.

This is an interesting contest for a variety of reasons – it is the first meeting of these clubs since last season’s Europa League last-16 tie, which Schalke won on away goals, while the duo go into the weekend third and fourth in the Bundesliga table.

Gladbach were well beaten 3-0 away to Wolfsburg last time out and so Schalke look the better value here, unbeaten since September and with former Cardiff City forward Guido Burgstaller in terrific form, the Austrian having scored on seven of his last 10 appearances for club and country.
