Bournemouth v West Ham United Betting Tips Explained

Bournemouth earned a very creditable 1-1 draw at Manchester United last weekend, but that result has not stopped the club from sliding closer to the relegation zone with just five points separating the Cherries and the bottom three heading into this weekend’s games. Their winless run now stands at eight games – with five of them ending in defeat – and Eddie Howe’s men simply have to stop the rot before they find themselves in serious trouble. Howe knows it.

“Time is running out for us,” he told BBC Radio Solent prior to the draw with Manchester United. “We need to make sure we hit those levels [individually and collectively] very quickly. We are in desperate search of a win. We have been training well. Elements of our game have been very good and we are hoping the tide will turn for us.”

That tide did not quite turn at Old Trafford, even if they did pick up a point, so can Bournemouth finally get back to winning ways when they host West Ham United on Saturday afternoon? Or will it be more misery for Howe and his men as they look to avoid an end to their Premier League adventure?

Despite losing last time out, against league leaders Chelsea, West Ham United head to the South Coast in decent form – especially on their travels. Slaven Bilic’s side have taken seven points from their last three games away from home and they will certainly fancy their chances of collecting more points against a Bournemouth side that have failed to win any of their last five games at home.

I fancy their chances too. Bournemouth’s point against Manchester United came courtesy of a very negative approach and they cannot adopt that same tactic on home turf. The onus will be on them to go after the victory and they should be more aggressive here, but they have now managed just one clean sheet in their last 11 Premier League games and they have not managed a home win since beating Leicester City on December 13. The Cherries will stop the rot eventually, but I do not seeing it happening against West Ham United.

And of course, when it comes to Bournemouth matches the one thing you can expect to see are goals. Only one of their last 15 Premier League games has produced less than two goals and 11 of them have seen three goals or more. West Ham are hardly goal-shy either, with six of their last even producing three or more goals, so I expect to see the ball hit the back of the net on at least three occasions at the Vitality Stadium.
