Bournemouth v Brighton & Hove Albion Betting Tips Explained

Is this the season in which Bournemouth’s Premier League adventure finally comes to an end? The Cherries and managed Eddie Howe have received plenty of plaudits following their sensational rise to the top flight of English football, but they have made a miserable start to the season and only goal difference is keeping them off the foot of the table just now. Bournemouth have lost all four of their league games so far, scoring only once, and manager Howe has admitted his concern.

“That was not very good, I've got to be honest,” he told reporters after the 3-0 loss at Arsenal. “I can't hide it. We were disappointing from start to finish. We've got a lot of work to do. You can get bad results in the Premier League, but when you don't have performances, that's where concerns creep in. That's where we are. We will lick our wounds. We have no points. We have to dig deep and find some character and show what we are made of. I didn't see what I wanted to see today.”

They need to dig deep quickly. Next up for the Cherries is a South Coast derby with Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday night and the visitors will arrive at the Vitality Stadium brimming with confidence after notching their first ever Premier League win. Having opened with back-to-back defeats against Manchester City and Leicester City, Chris Hughton’s side have now taken four points from their last two games by following up a draw at Watford with a 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion at the weekend. Seeing three goals go in will have delighted Hughton, who had failed to see his team score in any of their previous three top-flight fixtures, and he will be calling on his side to capitalise on Bournemouth’s woes to pick up another three points from what has to be considered a winnable match.

However, I believe the Seagulls will be heading home empty-handed. Yes, Bournemouth have lost all four of their games so far but two of those meetings were against top-level clubs in Manchester City and Arsenal. The calibre of opposition they will face on Friday night is certainly a step down and Albion have failed to score in either of their two away games so far. The Cherries will have the bit between their teeth as they try to kick-start their season on Friday night and an improved showing should result in three massive points for Howe’s boys.

My second recommendation is to back this game to be a low-scoring affair. Brighton may have rattled in three goals at the weekend, but they have failed to score in three of their four Premier League games so far and they have not scored on their travels. Four of their five competitive fixtures have produced two goals or less and with Bournemouth struggling for goals themselves, this could be a rather dour affair that is settled by the slimmest of margins.
