Bournemouth v Arsenal Betting Tips Explained

January was always going to be a make-or-break month for Arsenal, and it has not gone well so far. They continue to hang onto their most prized assets in Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez, but in the latter’s case it really does feel like it is only a matter of time before he dumps the Gunners and heads North to Premier League leaders Manchester City. And on the pitch, Arsene Wenger’s men have now gone four games without a victory in all competitions – denting their quest for a top-four finish and domestic silverware this season.

The FA Cup holders were sent crashing out of the competition last weekend as Championship side Nottingham Forest inflicted a 4-2 defeat on them, and in the league they have lost further ground on the top four with back-to-back draws against West Bromwich Albion and Chelsea. Wenger’s side are now five points off the Champions League qualifying spots and that means they simply have to start stringing together some wins – and quickly.

Next up for them is a trip to the South Coast to take on a Bournemouth side that are unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions but have won only one of their last 10 matches in the Premier League – a sequence that has left them hovering dangerously above the relegation zone. The Cherries are also in desperate need of a victory, but if he was offered it right now manager Eddie Howe would probably take a repeat of last season’s 3-3 draw at the Vitality Stadium – after all, a point against a top six side is never a bad thing.

However, I do not see Bournemouth taking anything from this meeting with Arsenal. The Gunners have endured a couple of dreadful results over the past few weeks, but their record against Bournemouth is almost flawless with four wins and one draw coming in their previous five Premier League meetings with the South Coast club, and this Cherries defence cannot stop conceding goals – they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 11 games in all competitions and have conceded 24 times in that spell.

Arsenal have scored three times in each of their last three meetings with Bournemouth and we could see more of the same here as they leave the Vitality Stadium with three more points, but I would not be surprised to see the Cherries get on the scoresheet themselves. They have scored four goals in their last three meetings with Wenger’s side and have netted eight times in their last 11 games, with Callum Wilson finding the back of the net in two of their last three Premier League matches. Wilson could grab a goal as Bournemouth lose another high-scoring clash with the Gunners.
