William Hill take £10,000 Oscars bet that will win just £200 - Wager on Viola Davis Best Supporting Actress at 1/50 odds

William Hill have reportedly taken a bet of £10,000 on Viola Davis to win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar at the 2017 Academy Awards that will win just £200 if the 1/50 favourite scoops the gong.

William Hill have this week taken a quite extraordinary Oscars wager with a punter from London placing a whopping £10,000 on Viola Davis to win the Best Supporting Actress at this year’s ceremony. Davis, however is just 1/50 to win the award which means the gutsy punter would receive a profit of just £200.

William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly told Bettingpro:

“On paper Viola Davis is the biggest certainty of this year’s Oscars and she is the same price to win her award this year as Colin Firth was to win for The King’s Speech,

“This big punter obviously thinks that they are buying money by backing her to win at such a price.”

La La Land also looks set to win big this weekend with the movie a 1/9 favourite to win the Best Picture Oscar. Emma Stone is 1/6 for Best Actress and Damien Chazelle 1/20 for Best Director in what could well be a fantastic night for all involved with the much vaunted film.
