Prince William and wife Kate welcomed a new baby boy into the world this week, but the Royal couple are yet to reveal the name of the third child so the bookmakers and punters are still playing the guessing game.

Arthur remains the bookmakers’ favourite, but the name has drifted from 5/4 to 5/2 over the past 24 hours as customers have instead put their cash on Albert to be the name the choose.

That gamble has resulted in Albert being shortened to 11/2 by William Hill, making it the new third favourite name behind Arthur and 4/1 choice James.

“The fact that the favourite, which has attracted the most money since the birth was announced, has started to drift, suggests that royal punters are not as confident about the name as first thought,” William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly told Bettingpro.com.

“On Wednesday [morning] we took over £100,000 worth of bets on this market.”

Latest William Hill Odds

Name of the Royal Baby number three: 5/2 Arthur; 4/1 James; 11/2 Albert; 13/2 Philip; 10/1 Alexander; 10/1 Henry; 14/1 Thomas; 16/1 Edward; 16/1 Fred; 16/1 Michael; 20/1 BAR.
