James gains ground as Wes drifts in Dancing On Ice betting

Wes Nelson remains the bookmakers’ favourite to win Dancing On Ice 2019, but the bookies and punters may have lost a little faith in the Love Island star following his latest performance on the ice.

Wes became this series’ first odds-on favourite to win Dancing On Ice when Ladbrokes cut his odds to 10/11 a week ago, and he impressed the judges this past weekend with a salsa routine that had the hard-to-please Jason Gardiner gushing.

However, could the constant headlines about his love life be putting off the general public?

The latest odds suggesting something has affected Wes’ chances of winning the show in the minds of the bookmakers, because Ladbrokes has now pushed him out to Even-money following that saucy salsa.

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional James Jordan has been able to close the gap in the betting after his latest performance earned a high score from the judges but some criticism for playing it ‘safe’ from Christopher Dean.

The high score was enough to force Ladbrokes to trim James’ odds into 6/4 and it looks like it will almost certainly be a two-horse race for the title between him and Wes because the next person up in the betting, former Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton, is now out to 10/1 from 8/1.

Saara Aalto, Jane Danson and Brian McFadden have also seen their odds lengthen, while Ryan Sidebottom remains a 100/1 write-off after he managed to survive a skate-off with Gemma Collins.

The judges appeared somewhat delighted to finally get rid of Gemma on Sunday night, and the odds suggest former England cricketer Ryan will be following her off the ice this weekend.

Latest Ladbrokes Odds

Dancing On Ice Winner: EVS Wes Nelson, 6/4 James Jordan, 10/1 Melody Thornton, 16/1 Saara Aalto, 20/1 Jane Danson, 25/1 Brian McFadden, 100/1 Ryan Sidebottom.
