Love Island star to become king of the ice? Bookies cast their Dancing On Ice vote!

Dancing On Ice returns to our screens in the New Year and the bookmakers are backing another reality television star to follow in the footsteps of 2018 champion Jake Quickenden.

Former X Factor and I’m A Celebrity star Jake was the runaway winner as Dancing On Ice made its return to television in early 2018, and another group of hopefuls are aiming to follow in his footsteps, or should I say skates, when the 2019 series begins in early January,

ITV confirmed the line-up a couple of months ago and while there is a clear favourite to win the show, the bookmakers do believe this year could be more competitive than 2018 when Jake was, quite simply, a cut above everyone else.

Love Island star Wes Nelson has been installed as the 2/1 favourite to lift the trophy at the end of the series with Ladbrokes, but there are a whole host of celebrities priced shorter than 10s as the first broadcast draws ever closer.

James Jordan has gone from being a professional dancer on Strictly Come Dancing to a Dancing on Ice amateur, and the bookies believe he could make a smooth transition because he is the 5/1 joint second favourite alongside singer-songwriter Melody Thornton.

Eastenders star Richard Blackwood is next up at 6/1, while former Westlife band-member turned television presenter Brian McFadden is available at 8/1 alongside Coronation Street actress Danson.

The sole professional sportsman in the line-up is 14/1 outsider Ryan Sidebottom, while the battle for this year’s ‘comedy act’ is expected to be between three candidates with Grease actress Didi Conn a 33/1 write-off alongside reality TV star Gemma Collins and former Neighbours actor Mark Little.

Latest Ladbrokes Odds

Dancing On Ice Winner: 2/1 Wes Nelson, 5/1 James Jordan, 5/1 Melody Thornton, 6/1 Richard Blackwood, 8/1 Brian McFadden, 8/1 Jane Danson, 12/1 Saara Aalto, 16/1 Ryan Sidebottom, 20/1 Saira Khan, 33/1 Didi Conn, 33/1 Gemma Collins, 33/1 Mark Little.
