Dalton Harris into 11/10 after technical gremlins wreak havoc on X Factor

Dalton Harris remains the bookmakers’ favourite to win the X Factor following a controversial weekend for the ITV show.

With judge Robbie Williams set to jet off for a tour of Chile, show bosses opted to tape Saturday night’s broadcast hours before it was due to air, and it was a plan that backfired in spectacular fashion as technical issues struck.

Audio problems interfered with the performances of Anthony Russell and Danny Tetley, and that forced the X Factor to take the unprecedented step of scrapping that night’s public vote and then airing every performance once again on Sunday night before opening the phone lines.

Danny and Anthony overcame the gremlins to stay on the show, as United Vibe and Molly Scott were given the boot, and Anthony remains one of the leading contenders to win the show after Ladbrokes trimmed his odds from 8/1 to 6/1.

However, the bookies still cannot see past Dalton Harris, whose odds continue to shorten with each impressive performance he delivers. Dalton is now into 11/10 to win the 2018 series, with former favourite Shan considered his main rival at 3/1 having previously set records in the X Factor betting.

Scarlett Lee is the only other act shorter than 12s at this time, having been shortened from 10/1 to 8/1, while heading in the other direction is Bella Penfold, whose odds have continued to drift in recent weeks. Having been 16/1 prior to the weekend, she is now out at 20/1.

Latest Ladbrokes Odds

X Factor Winner: 11/10 Dalton Harris, 3/1 Shan, 6/1 Anthony Russell, 10/1 Scarlett Lee, 12/1 Misunderstood, 20/1 Acacia & Aliyah, 20/1 Bella Penfold, 33/1 Brendan Murray, 33/1 Giovanni Spano, 66/1 Danny Tetley.
