Bookies back Wes Nelson to skate off with Dancing On Ice title after weekend 10s

Just two broadcasts remain the 2019 series of Dancing On Ice and the bookmakers are more convinced than ever that former Love Island star Wes Nelson will skate off with the trophy.

Wes replaced James Jordan as the bookies’ pick a couple of weeks ago and has gone from strength to strength since then to cement his place as the favourite to win the show.

He suffered a scare in practice before last weekend’s live show that forced him and his partner to abandon plans for a spectacular lift, but their performance on the night earned them the first 10s of the series and ensured Wes would end the night atop the leaderboard.

They also ensured that Wes would maintain top billing too and Ladbrokes is now convinced that he will be crowned Dancing On Ice champion for 2019, having slashed his pre-show odds of 4/6 all the way into 2/5.

While Wes’ odds have shortened, James’ price is head in the opposite direction.

Having been stuck on 7/4 for the past couple of weeks, the former Strictly Come Dancing professional had been hoping to make a big impact with his ‘Flintstones’ routine on Sunday night, but he failed to match the couple of 10s scored by Wes and the bookies believe he may be running out of steam.

As a result James has now drifted out to 5/2 to win Dancing On Ice, but he remains Wes’ only real competition heading into the semi-finals with Brian McFadden all the way out at 16/1 ahead of Saara Aalto at 20/1.

Latest Ladbrokes Odds

Dancing On Ice Winner: 2/5 Wes Nelson, 5/2 James Jordan, 16/1 Brian McFadden, 20/1 Saara Aalto.
