BAFTA betting odds – 12 Years A Slave odds-on to win Best Film

12 Years A Slave is expected to win big at the BAFTAs this year, according to bookmaker Ladbrokes.

Ladbrokes are odds-on at 2/5 that it takes home the main prize of the ceremony as the Best Film from the last 12 months. However, Steve McQueen narrowly misses out on favouritism to be crowned as the Best Director (6/5).

Chiwetel Ejiofor (1/3) and Michael Fassbender (1/4) are both heavily odds-on to pick up the Best Actor and Supporting Actor awards respectively, and Lupita Nyong'o is fancied as the year's Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Patsey. Cate Blanchett is the 2/7 favourite to be named as the Best Actress.

Gravity is chalked up at just 2/5 to land the Outstanding British Film award, but should there be an upset it could come from Philomena (4/1) or Saving Mr Banks (5/1).

Ladbrokes spokesperson Jessica Bridge told Bettingpro.com:

“12 Years A Slave dominates the nominations and the odds suggests it does so for a reason. With such strong favourites in every category it's hard to see many upsets at this stage.”
