Argo is without doubt the story of the BAFTA betting, according to bookmaker William Hill.

Having started as a 3/1 shot, Argo has been backed all the way in to 2/9 to win Best Film at Sunday’s BAFTA ceremony.

This amazing run has seen it overtake the original favourite Lincoln (6/1) and Les Miserables which is now a 5/1 shot with William Hill.

William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams told “Argo seems to have all the momentum and looks set to win both the best film and the best director.

“But we still have high hopes that Skyfall win at least one of the three major categories it has been nominated for.”

Latest William Hill odds:

Skyfall: 6/4 to win one of the following: Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Outstanding British Film
