BAFTA Awards 2014 odds - Michael Fassbender backed for Best Supporting Actor

Paddy Power are in doubt that Michael Fassbender will win the Best Supporting Actor BAFTA and they expect him to turn up in a traditional black tuxedo.

Michael Fassbender is as short as 1/8 with Paddy Power to come away from the BAFTAs with the Best Supporting Actor gong for his part in 12 Years a Slave.

The Kerryman has been the runaway popular punt amongst Paddy Power’s customers attracting over 92% of all money placed on his category forcing the bookmaker into the skinny odds.

Unsurprisingly, after bagging a cool 10 nominations ‘torture porn’ race drama 12 Years a Slave looks set to dominate proceedings.

The bookmaker is offering 11/10 for the slavery drama to pick up 7 awards or more, while it’s an unbackable 1/8 for Steve McQueen’s masterpiece to land Best Film and 1/12 for Chiwetel Ejiofor to win Leading Actor.

Paddy Power has also opened the betting on a number of Fry Specials, offering 5/6 for the funny man to Tweet on the night, 2/5 to take a selfie, 200/1 to be wearing a Union Jack tux, 4/7 to take a pop at Putin with a Sochi gag and 5/1 for his longest word to contain 6 or more syllables.

A spokesperson for Paddy Power told Bettingpro:

“Despite facing some stiff competition from Barkhad Adbi, punters have been willing to back Fassbender at any price and it would be a major shock in our eyes if he was to lose out.”
