Jon Wilde: Back Darren Fichardt to win Joburg Open

Very few players can say they have won the same tournament twice in the same calendar year, let alone at two different venues, but that is the kind of history Darren Fichardt could make this week. As mentioned above, South Africans have an excellent record in this event and although Fichardt’s victory in February was over different courses, he has some good results at Randpark to his credit, so knows the place better than most of his rivals, and has been playing some decent golf of late.

Brian Healy: Back Huntsman Son to win 2:25 Market Rasen

Huntsman Son shaped well for a long way on his hurdles debut at Uttoxeter last month, and Alex Hales’ charge can get off the mark at the second attempt. A dual-winner between the flags in Ireland, he had just one start in bumpers prior to a lengthy absence, finishing sixth at Worcester behind River Of Intrigue; off subsequently for 17 months, he probably just needed the return at Uttoxeter where he travelled well before tiring late. The form doesn’t look too bad with the winner, third, fourth and sixth horses all bagging silver medals next time; this opening mark of 115 then doesn’t look overly harsh on the evidence of that return, and he can build on the run to go one better.

Dean Smith: Back Under 2.5 Total Goals in Arsenal v BATE Borisov

Although these two sides shared six goals in the reverse fixture at Borisov Arena back in September, we're anticipating a less open encounter this time around. In their last three matches in this competition, Arsenal have managed just one goal - but they've conceded just once also, whilst BATE's last European outing ended in a goalless draw at home to Red Star. As such, odds of 6/4 with William Hill for under 2.5 goals in this game do look tempting to us.

Leigh Copson: Back New Orleans Saints -3.5 to beat Atlanta Falcons

This New Orleans defense is not on the same level as that Minnesota Vikings unit that stuffed the Atlanta Falcons last weekend, but it does not need to be because that Saints offense is flying once again. They have been averaging 427.6 yards and 32.5 points per game since the bye week, and quarterback Drew Brees has not had to be at his record-setting best during this time because the run game has been utterly dominant, producing a total of 1,335 yards to average 166.9 per game. A year ago Atlanta could have matched this level of productivity, but the Falcons offense has toiled in 2017 and I do not see them keeping pace with the Saints on Thursday night.

Lorenzo Gahol: Back St Louis Blues to beat Dallas Stars

The St Louis Blues are happy to end their three-game skid so they are upbeat against the Dallas Stars. Brayden Schenn scored thrice to lead the Blues (18-8-2, 38 points) to a 4-3 victory at Montreal on Tuesday. Scottie Upshall was the other goal scorer for St. Louis while Jake Allen had 22 saves. The Stars (16-11-1, 33 points), meanwhile, are determined to bounce back after suffering a 2-5 defeat to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Defensemen Stephen Johns and Jamie Oleksiak scored for Dallas but their efforts were not enough as their five-game winning run came to an end. The Blues defeated the Stars 4-2 at home last October 7 with Carl Gunnarsson, Joel Edmundson, Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko all finding the net. We expect the same result in their rematch.
