Liverpool host Norwich in the opening game of the Premier League season on Friday evening.

Liverpool take on Norwich this evening in a game that they have been waiting years to play, with their return to the Premier League one that took them far longer than their fans would have wanted. However, a game against the Reds on the opening night will likely not bring with it much hope, with the fairytale of a win over the European champions at Anfield on their first game back in the top flight something we do not envisage.
It should be noted that the Reds have had to deal with a late return for their attacking-trio, with Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino not having much time to rest and recuperate following the conclusion of their international duties. This could see the side get off to a very slow start as they look to once again gel ahead of another title challenge. While the trio managed 56 goals between them in the league last year, it can often take time to get back to scoring ways in the Premier League, something that even a world class player like Harry Kane knows all too well. Perhaps then Villa will enjoy a first-half in which they are able to maintain parity with their opponents by frustrating the attacking stars of Liverpool and forcing a goalless first 45.
Of course, we do not expect them to keep this up, with the Anfield crowd baying for goals and, more importantly, three points. We think this will see Jurgen Klopp's side come out with a renewed sense of purpose which will see goals scored in the second-half, resulting in a draw at half-time and Liverpool leading at full time.
Despite the fact Villa kick-off their season with an away trip to the Reds this year, we feel this may be a good chance for the side to play the European champions as they may suffer from something of a hangover from last year in the opening exchanges, but we think they will come good in the second-half, helping them to secure a win.
