New Zealand vs Bangladesh Betting Tips

Bangladesh were once again given a lesson in cricket by New Zealand as the home side hammered the tourists. Batting first, Bangladesh scored just 211 as Neil Wagner (4-28) and Trent Boult (3-38) tore through their opponents. After the bowlers had done their work, the batsmen came in and despite Jeet Raval and Tom Latham scoring less than 10 runs between them, captain Kane Williamson (74), Henry Nicholls (107) and Ross Taylor (200) in particular starred as they made it to 432/6 declared to pile the pressure on their opponents. Despite looking to chase down a less-than massive 221 to force New Zealand to bat again, the tourists failed to get to their target as they were skittled for 209 as Wagner (5-45) and Boult (4-52) returned to complete the nightmare for the visitors.

The home team have been at their very best of late, and New Zealand have only had to bat twice in two matches against Bangladesh, and the Black Caps have amassed 1147 runs, while Bangladesh have scored 1089 runs in four innings. Incredibly, New Zealand have only lost 12 wickets from 40 in the two matches while Bangladesh have seen all 40 of their wickets go down. Clearly, New Zealand are in the ascendancy in this one, and we cannot see anything but another home win in the third and final Test as the touring side will want to see the back of this series as soon as possible after struggling massively. Despite the fact that Raval and Latham failed in the second Test, we think that they are a very good opening partnership that will continue to improve. The pair were outstanding in the first Test and will have been incredibly annoyed to have to go back to the pavilion so early on in conditions that saw their teammates score big. With this in mind, we are backing the pair to be amongst the runs yet again and to outscore Bangladesh’s openers. Our next bet revolves around the outstanding work of Neil Wagner in the last Test. Wagner knocked over nine Bangladesh players in a stunning display in the first and second innings, and we are backing him to end as New Zealand’s top bowler. Trent Boult does also offer good value at 9/4 with Betfair in comparison to Wagner’s tasty 5/2, and we can see either staring, but judging on the wicket-taking column from the last game, we are backing the latter.
