Can Jonny Bairstow and David Warner keep up their awesome form as they look to secure the Orange Cap this year?

What a season it has been so far for Sunrisers Hyderabad so far, with the side currently enjoying their latest campaign in the Indian Premier League. An opening day loss to Kolkata Knight Riders saw the side slump in the table, but three wins on the bounce against Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Capitals has seen the outfit climb up the standings, and they have retained their tag as serious contenders to win the competition this year.

The outfit has been buoyed by their awesome opening partnership, with David Warner and Jonny Bairstow in fantastic form of late and driving the time forward. Putting and Australia and an Englishman together does not always produce the best of results, but the two have shone as opening partners, with Warner nothing 264 runs at an average of 88.00, while Bairstow has 246 runs at an average of 61.50. As things stand, Wanrer sits at the top of the runs scoring charts, while Bairstow is in second, a massive 87 clear of Andre Russell in third. With this in mind, the pair have been installed as the favourites to finish as the top runs scorer and to secure the the orange cap, which is awarded to the top scoring batsman.

Warner is currently 2/1 with bookmaker Unibet to achieve the feat, while Bairstow is next up at 6/1. The rest of the field are a long way back, with the out-of-form Virat Kohli at 18’s. Rohit Sharma, Chris Gayle and Sanju Samson (all 20/1) are also in the runnings, while Andre Russell, who is in third in the run scoring charts, is available at 22/1 due to the fact he is an all-rounder and so his focus will not solely be on his exploits with the bat.

Unibet - 2019 IPL Top Runs Scorer betting odds (selected odds):

David Warner - 2/1

Jonny Bairstow - 6/1

Virat Kohli - 18/1

Rohit Sharma - 20/1

Chris Gayle - 20/1

Sanju Samson - 20/1

Andre Russell - 22/1
