Can Kane Williamson lead his New Zealand side to a fourth win in four games at the World Cup, or will India pick up their third win of the competition? Read on for our best bets for this World Cup clash.

India vs New Zealand Predictions

India and New Zealand are the only two teams left at the 2019 Cricket World Cup with a 100% record, but one, if not both of them will go on Thursday as this mouth-watering clash approaches. India have only played twice at the current World Cup but they have come out with four points from these games and they look strong. Wins over South Africa and Australia sees the side come through with maximum points from what should have been two testing encounters, but their six wicket win over the Proteas and their 36 run triumph against Australia shows that India are in fine form. New Zealand meanwhile have easily beaten Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan to the top the World Cup table after three matches, and with their batting and bowling looking incredibly well-balanced right now, we can see them taking one of the much-coveted semi-final spots in July.

Match Winner

In this one we are torn as India have enjoyed the last few games between the pair as they have flexed their exceptionally impressive cricketing muscles against the Black Caps. However, at 4/9, they clearly offer no value, while New Zealand come in at 7/4 to make it four wins from four at the 2019 World Cup. Victories over Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan sees the Black Caps looking very strong, while they will cite that the English conditions suit their game, such is the similarity between the conditions in New Zealand and England. With the likes of Ross Taylor, Kane Williamson and Colin Munro all looking good with the bat so far, we think that they will give India a real go, while the exploits of Lockie Ferguson (8 wickets), Matt Henry (7 wickets) and James Neesham (6 wickets) sees the trio all looking awesome with the ball as they continue to make it talk. Of course, we can see India winning this one, but we think that the odds and chance the Black Caps provide due to their current form means they are worth the risk.

Top New Zealand Bowler

There is an abundance of bowling talent in the New Zealand team this year as they continue to impress with the ball. Trent Boult is the main-man in their bowling attack but he has actually underwhelmed so far, with three wickets in three matches seeing him sit some way behind the Black Caps’ top bowlers. The exploits of Lockie Ferguson this year has been particularly impressive, and he comes into this one in great form following his supreme figures of 4/37 against Afghanistan. Of course, it was the exploits of James Neesham (5/31) that took the headlines bowling wise in that match, but Ferguson’s four wickets took his tally to the World Cup up to eight, meaning he is currently the tournament’s top wicket-taker. Another spell of bowling in the same ilk as that of against Afghanistan and then even the great Indian top-order will struggle, and we are backing him to be New Zealand’s top bowler in this one.
