India vs Afghanistan Betting Tips

KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli to score 200+ runs combined

Afghanistan’s last game against England was always going to be a tough one especially if they allowed England to go in to bat first as the tournament hosts are so strong with willow in hand. Of course, it should be noted that England would likely have backed themselves in a run chase, but the Three Lions’ greatest scores have come when they are posting. Afghanistan will also worry that this will be the case against India with the side boasting some of the best batsmen in world cricket. Rohit Sharma in particular has impressed as he has notched 319 total runs in three innings at an average of 159.50 as he continues to prove that he is currently in great touch. Captain Virat Kohli has also looked good when out in the middle as he averages 59.00 this summer after notching 177 runs in three innings. Impressively, Sharma’s exploits have been so good that Kohli has not really needed to bat for extended periods, with the opener instead happy to take on the brunt of the run scoring. Sharma’s fellow opener KL Rahul has not been in the greatest of form so far as he has scored 94 in three innings at an average of 47.00 which, in comparison to the scores the other two boast, is quite under-par. However, the batting power of the three was on full show in their last game as Rahul (57), Sharma (140) and Kohli (77) all starred as they smashed 274 runs between them against a Pakistan side that can call upon the bowling power of Mohammad Amir, who sits at the top of the bowling charts with 13 scalps so far. Prior to this game, Sharma (57) and Kohli (82) were in fine form against Australia which alludes to the fact they are in great touch and will likely only build on these performances.

To Score 100

There are a number of players in the Indian team we would back to score a century, but when the best player in the world is turning out for a side, it makes sense to back him. Kohli comes into this one with an average of 59.57, while he is going at 59.00 in the tournament and he really looks the part in that Indian team, although this was not ever in doubt. Afghanistan struggled to really get at England’s players in their match as all of the top four bar James Vince were able to get a century, or near to that point, with Eoin Morgan, Jonny Bairstow and Joe Root starring. Kohli will likely have been a very interested spectator to that match and he will target a beleaguered Afghanistan bowling attack, while if Rashid Khan is to come in and bowl again following his awful figures of 0-110 from nine overs, Kohli will surely go at him. The technically gifted batsmen will look to utilise his range of shots against the same opponents England hammered on Tuesday, with Kohli looking to go big once again in ODI cricket.
