Can England make it three wins from four at the 2019 World Cup or will the West Indies spoil the party for the tournament hosts? Read on for our best bets for this World Cup match.

England vs West Indies Predictions

England vs West Indies Betting Tips

There is a huge game at the Rose Bowl on Friday as two of the biggest-hitting sides in cricket come together. England were able to bounce back from a very surprising loss to Pakistan in their second match by hammering Bangladesh as the Three Lions’ batting lineup were in inspired form as they smashed 386 runs before bowling Bangladesh out for just 280, seeing the side clinch a big 106 run win over their opponents who had been able to beat South Africa earlier in the tournament. West Indies meanwhile come into this after hammering Pakistan following a supreme display of short bowling that saw their opponents fall apart, but they were then outdone by a stubborn Australia batting outfit that somehow found a way to win despite being five down for less than 100 runs. Unfortunately for the Windies, they did not have a chance to get a win in their third match after proceedings were rained off against South Africa despite the West Indies having the Proteas under severe pressure.

Match Winner

This is an interesting one as far as the odds for the match winner goes with England massive favourites at 3/10, while the Windies are 5/2 to pick up a huge win. England are obviously the favourites and for good reason with home advantage and a team that is ridiculously well balanced considering their batting power. The power of Jason Roy straight off the bat in the last game coupled with a quick-fire fifty from Jos Buttler saw England set a huge total against Bangladesh before Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer both had a big hand with the ball. However, the Windies have looked superb when bowling short stuff in particular, while their batting lineup is not ever one that can be discounted. The recent ODI series between the pair saw things end all-square at 2-2 in a phenomenal display of batting that really captured the imagination of everyone watching. Despite the parity the two sides enjoyed on the scoreline, we think that England will secure their third win in four games as they look to edge closer to the semi-finals of the tournament. The Windes displayed their power with the ball early-on against Australia last time out but they let their opponents off the hook as they could not quite take the wicket to break the Steve Smith-Nathan Coulter-Nile partnership. England have an abundance of batting talent which goes very deep, and we think that if the Windies give England an inch, they will take a mile.

Jason Roy to score a century

The exploits of Jason Roy in ODI cricket over the past few years have been incredibly impressive, with the opener clearly relishing the near-constant battle he was embroiled in for one of the two opener’s jerseys. Roy was able to successfully battle with Alex Hales and Jonny Bairstow to secure the berth along with the latter, and he has not looked back, with impressive performances with the bat more often than not able to see England begin in lightning quick style with runs flowing from his blade. Three centuries and three half-centuries in his eight innings in 2019 has seen his stock rise massively, while he is batting with a ridiculous average of 77.13 in ODI cricket this year. His mammoth score of 153 is more than 30 runs higher than any other batsman at the World Cup so far, and he will be confident of adding more runs to his tally against the Windies, with 125 runs and a century coming in two innings against the West Indies in their last series.
