Two Royals favourites to finish bottom of the IPL

Will the Rajasthan Royals and the Royal Challengers Bangalore defy the odds and make sure neither of the sides are sitting a the bottom of the IPL this season?

The Indian Premier League started at full-speed and it has continued in this way with the world’s top club cricket competition providing some unbelievable cricketing action already. As things stand, Sunrisers Hyderabad sit at the top after four games, level on six points with Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings. Clearly, the start to the year for those three sides has been one that alludes to silverware come May.

However, not every team can excel in the competition, with this season’s two strugglers coming in the form of Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals. The pair currently have a single win between them, with Bangalore winless and on zero points at the bottom of the table, while Rajasthan have a single win, which came over the bottom side. Despite the sides boasting the likes of Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Jos Buttler and Steve Smith, they have struggled, with wins very tough to come by. Regardless of all of this talent, the bookies clearly think that the two will be fighting it out between them to avoid finishing bottom this year. As things stand, RCB and RR are 6/4 favourites to finish at the bottom with bookmaker Unibet, with the pair failing to really show too many signs of a big revival.

Newly branded Delhi Capitals are next in line at 7/1 along with Kings XI Punjab, while Sunrisers Hyderabad are apparently the least likely side to finish at the bottom as they are 100/1.
