Paddy Power pay out on Conor McGregor v Floyd Mayweather taking place

Bettingpro Staff 13 Jun 2017

Bookmaker Paddy Power has paid out on the Conor McGregor v Floyd Mayweather Jr super-fight taking place amid speculation that the fight is about to be announced.

Paddy Power, who has been taking bets on the fight occurring since January, decided to pull the plug on Tuesday after cutting the odds of the fight happening to 1/100 following reports that a venue has been booked for the showdown between MMA’s biggest star and the unbeaten boxing legend.

The pay-out will cost the bookie €1,500, which would probably get you about four seconds of McGregor’s time, with the biggest individual winner collecting €382 having placed €200 on the box office clash happening at 10/11 back in January.

“This saga has seen more changes than McGregor’s outfits but it now looks a done deal and we’ve decided to throw in the towel,” a spokesperson for Paddy Power told Bettingpro.com.
“The fight looks set to be the biggest in history and might even eclipse both men’s egos.”

Mayweather is the overwhelming 1/10 favourite with Paddy Power to win the bout, with McGregor available at 6/1 to hand the boxing legend his first ever defeat.
