5 Reasons Why You Should Back Wilder To Win By KO/TKO In Rounds 7-12

  1. Deontay Wilder is stepping inside the ring for the 40th time in his professional career and he boasts a perfect 39-0 record that includes six successful defences of his WBC world heavyweight title.
  2. Wilder boasts a terrifying record when it comes to stoppage wins. The 32-year-old is a perfect 39-0 and he has stopped 38 of those opponents, with Bermane Stiverne the only man to take ‘The Bronze Bomber’ the full 12 rounds back in January 2015. When the two men met again, in November of last year, Wilder destroyed him in one round.
  3. Wilder’s latest defence of the title lasted less than three minutes, but quickfire knockouts gave not been a common occurrence since he won the WBC title back in January 2015. ‘The Bronze’ Bomber has gone beyond six rounds in four of his six title defences and that is because he has been forced to answer a few occasions by those opponents. Ortiz represents probably the toughest test of his career so far, so I do not see Wilder tearing through him in short order.
  4. Ortiz is a southpaw and as we saw in the Artur Szpilka fight, Wilder is not completely comfortable against left-handed fighters. It took ‘The Bronze Bomber’ nine rounds to finally dispatch the Polish fighter on that night and we could see similar scenes here.
  5. Of course, this market is available to all customers with a Paddy Power account so this will pay out cash if it is a winner – a £10 stake will produce a return of £24 if this bet is successful.
