After months of speculation it has been announced that Anthony Joshua and Joseph Park will attempt to unify their world heavyweight titles on March 31, and bookmaker William Hill expects AJ to add another belt to his haul in Cardiff.

The subject of Joshua’s next opponent has been a hot topic since he stopped Carlos Takam last October. The return of Tyson Fury sparked talk of a domestic scrap with the former champion in 2018 and, of course, there was plenty of debate about this being the year in which the unbeaten 28-year-old would attempt to unify the heavyweight titles by taking on Parker and Deontay Wilder.

It has now been announced that AJ’s next fight will see him look to take a step closer to being the undisputed world heavyweight champion, with the WBA and IBF title-holder set to defend his titles and challenge for Parker’s WBO belt at the Principality Stadium on March 31.

“I’m delighted to get this fight made – it’s been a long time coming,” said Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn. “Champions should fight Champions and AJ continues to step up to the challenges.
“It’s the first time in history that two reigning heavyweight World champions have met in Britain and it’s a classic match-up between two young, fast, undefeated belt holders and it’s going to be an explosive fight. This is another huge unification fight for Anthony as he continues to make history in the quest to become undisputed World heavyweight champion.”

Both men are, unsurprisingly, confident of leaving Cardiff, Wales as a world heavyweight champion on March 31, but the bookmakers are expecting nothing less than another victory for 20-0 Joshua.

William Hill has made him the 1/16 favourite to become the first man to beat Parker, with the New Zealander considered a 7/1 underdog (the draw is 28/1).

The firm has wasted no time in launching its Method Of Victory market too. Joshua’s perfect 20-0 record has seen him knock out all of his opponents, and William Hill is 1/6 about the British heavyweight maintaining his perfect record with another stoppage success on March 31.

However, the firm is not completely ruling out Parker becoming the first man to take AJ the full 12 rounds, with odds of 9/2 available on the British fighter maintaining his flawless professional record with the help of the judges’ scorecards.
