Leigh Copson: Back Jamie Vardy to score anytime & Leicester City to beat Arsenal @ 2/1 bet365
* Odds correct at 10:22 GMT on 04/11/2019

Leicester City have gone through a few managers since axing the man who master-minded their sensational Premier League title success in 2015/16, Claudio Ranieri, but it appears as though they have finally found the man that will take them forward over the next few years in Brendan Rodgers. The Foxes lured Rodgers away from Celtic during the second half of the 2018/19 season and the Northern Irishman’s impact at the King Power Stadium was felt immediately as he turned around the team’s fortunes to finish the campaign on a positive note and build some momentum for his first full season in charge. They are still riding that momentum right now.

The Foxes have taken 23 points from their first 11 games to sit just two points behind champions Manchester City heading into this weekend, and their fantastic start to the season has resulted in pundits debating whether or not this current team is actually better than the one that shocked world football by winning the title a few years ago. That is not a question that I believe can be answered this early in the season, but right now there is one thing you could say with confidence heading into this weekend. This Leicester team is certainly better than the Arsenal one that will pay a visit to the King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal may be sitting fifth in the table heading into this latest round of fixtures, but the Emirates Stadium has a dark cloud hanging over it at this time. The Gunners really are in a crisis. Manager Unai Emery is reportedly at risk of ‘losing the dressing room’ with his questionable tactics, captain Granit Xhaka’s position is almost untenable after his antics while being substituted against Crystal Palace, and that defence remains as dreadful as it was prior to Emery taking the reins from Arsene Wenger. In fact, at times it looks even worse. And then there is the whole Mesut Ozil scenario – who knows what really is going on there! They desperately need a win to lift some of the doom and gloom, but can we really expect them to claim three points on Saturday evening?

Of course not. The Gunners have won just two of their last nine Premier League fixtures and their away form over the past few years has been nothing short of appalling – already this season they have lost at newly-promoted Sheffield United, have blown a two-goal lead at Watford and settled for a draw away to a woeful Manchester United team. Arsenal have also tasted defeat in each of their last two visits to Leicester, so you really have to like the chances of the home side claiming all three points and piling on the misery for Emery & Co. here.

I am not just backing the Foxes to win though, because there is bags and bags of appeal coming from the Score/Win Double market. Leicester striker Jamie Vardy has already hit double figures for the season thanks to his strike at Crystal Palace last weekend, and he has now scored five goals in his last four home games in the Premier League. Vardy also loves nothing more than scoring against Arsenal it would seem, with eight goals coming in his last eight meetings the Gunners. So would you really bet against him making it at least nine goals in nine meetings by finding the back of the net in a Leicester win this weekend? I certainly would not!
