Leigh Copson: Back Norwich City Draw No Bet vs. Watford & over 2 total goals @ 7/4 bet365
* Odds correct at 09:44 GMT on 04/11/2019

This weekend’s Premier League schedule kicks off with a Friday night meeting between the bottom two, Norwich City and Watford, and even at this early stage of the season this could be considered a real six-pointer.

Hosts Norwich have sprung a major upset this season by beating Manchester City at home, but there have been few other highlights as they have learned the harsh reality of life back in the top tier of English football. The Canaries have lost eight of their 11 matches so far, collecting just seven points from a possible 33, and a big reason for their struggles has been a leaky defence. Only Southampton have conceded more goals than Daniel Farke’s side so far, and unless the Norwich boss can figure out a way to plug the leak then it is fair to say that his team will be playing Championship football once again this time next year.

But as bad as Norwich have been, Watford have been worse. They may not have lost as many games as their hosts and they may not have conceded as many goals as them either, but the Hornets are the only Premier League club yet to win a league fixture this season and a massive reason for that has been their hopelessness at the top end of the pitch. Watford have managed to find the back of the net just six times since the start of the 2019/20 league season and if they cannot somehow find that much-needed attacking spark it is going to be a long and painful season for them as they slide towards the second tier.

So having taken a look at both club’s position right now it is probably fair to say that this is an ideal fixture for both clubs right now. Norwich desperately need a win and a clean sheet against a side who are yet to win and do not score many, while Watford are in desperate need of a win and some goals against a side who have now lost eight times and cannot stop conceding goals. The question is who will take advantage of their opponent’s deficiencies in order to claim all three points and leave their opponent propping up the table after this latest round of games?

You could make a case for any of the three possible outcomes here, and I am leaning towards either a home win or a draw here. Norwich have been hit-and-miss at Carrow Road so far, but if they can turn this match into something of a shootout then you have to fancy the chances of them outgunning their mis-firing visitors. Their ability to put the ball in the back of the next, especially at home where they have not drawn a blank yet, gives them a decided edge. However, I am opting for Norwich Draw No Bet because have Watford been ‘draw specialists’ this season, recording five stalemates in their last 11 league games so far.
