Fans at the Kombank Arena are anticipating an exciting final between host Serbia and Puerto Rico in the Belgrade leg of the FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The Serbians walloped the Czech Republic 96-72 in yesterday's semifinal while the Puerto Ricans upset Latvia 77-70. Only the winner of this game will qualify for the Rio Olympics. Serbia earlier defeated Puerto Rico 87-81 in the group stage. 

Leading Serbia in its quest to reach the Olympics for the first time since 2004 are Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic and Euroleague veterans Bogdan Bogdanovic and Milos Teodosic. Jokic is averaging team-highs 16 points and 7.3 rebounds while Bogdanovic is producing 15 points, 6.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. Teodosic, who helped CSKA Moscow win the Euroleague title this past season, put up 11 points and a team-high 6 assists in their first three games.

Head coach Aleksandar Djordjevic is also expecting quality minutes from big men Miroslav Raduljica and Stefan Bircevic, forward Nikola Kalinic and guards Nemanja Nedovic and Stefan Markovic.

Out to spoil the party in Belgrade is Puerto Rico, which boasts of NBA-caliber guards Jose Juan Barea and Carlos Arroyo. The backcourt duo scored 14 points apiece and combined for 10 assists against the Latvians. Barea is averaging 14 points and 5 assists while Arroyo is producing 13 points and 4 assists.

Angel Vassallo and leading scorer John Holland will man the wings for the Caribbean powerhouse. Up front, head coach Eddie Casiano will utlize Renaldo Balkman, Ramon Clemente, Ricky Sanchez, Jorge Bryan Diaz and Peter John Ramos.
